Established since 1969, Downes and Bartlam Travel are a small, independent travel agents based locally in Newcastle under Lyme.
Despite having a strong reputation for providing first-class travel services to the people of North Staffordshire and Cheshire, the business approached us looking for a cost-effective CMS website to help them to reach a wider target audience online and to keep up with changing consumer habits as in recent years, more people now search online for holidays instead of popping into stores.
Intended to act as an information point to appeal to new audiences and to build brand awareness, the new CMS website needed to look modern and vibrant whilst remaining budget friendly and easy to manage. For this reason we opted for WordPress due to it’s ease of use and flexibility. What makes our end product different to other entry-level solutions however is that it’s completely expandable for when you need to add to it in the future.
Copywriting and Website Population
In addition to developing a CMS website for the business, we also provided copywriting services and populated the website for the client prior to the launch. Working closely with the client and their dedicated Account Manager, Simon, we wrote unique copy that is engaging and optimised for both mobile and desktops. During the population we also sourced all of the images for the site, cropping them perfectly and uploading them for the client. This ensured that everything remained balanced across the site and that each page displays seamlessly when viewed on different screen sizes.
