WordPress Developer

Hey! We’re Netbiz Group, a digital agency based in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

We’re looking for a WordPress Developer to join our growing studio team, to take the web designs from our awesome design team and convert them into real, high quality WordPress builds. Whether you’re a new developer or you’ve been doing this for a while, if you’ve got an enthusiasm for what you do and are passionate about web development, we’d love to hear from you!

We’ll need you to:

• Have a good understanding of WordPress, including:

• Developing custom themes from scratch

• Developing custom plugins

• Have a good understanding of the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL

• Have an understanding of front-end JavaScript (either with or without frameworks)

• Be able to convert a web design (in Figma or Adobe XD) into real HTML, CSS and JS

• Develop front-end code that is accessible-first and responsive

• Be great at working together with a team. We’re all learning from each other and projects are often a collaborative effort!

• Be eager to learn new skills and develop yourself

Bonus points if you:

• Have experience with ACF

• Have used front-end build tools, like Sass

• Have developed for another PHP-based platform (like Opencart or Magento) or a framework (like Laravel, CodeIgniter 4 or Symfony), or done equivalent back-end projects

• Have an understanding of the MVC software design pattern

• Have an understanding of technical SEO

We work with a wide range of clients, from great local businesses, to innovative start-ups and big brands. The work you do will have a direct impact on helping these businesses and solving interesting problems.

You’ll be joining our studio team, working alongside a talented team of developers, designers and server engineers.
