Junior / Midweight Web Developer

Hey! We’re Netbiz Group, a digital agency based in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

We’re looking for a web developer to join our growing studio team. Whether you’re a new developer or you’ve been doing this for a while, if you’ve got an enthusiasm for what you do and are passionate about web development, we’d love to hear from you!

We’ll need you to:

• Have a good understanding of the fundamentals of HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL

• Have a basic understanding of front-end JavaScript (either with or without frameworks)

• Be able to convert a web design (in Figma or Adobe XD) into real HTML, CSS and JS

• Have a willingness to learn new skills and dive into new technologies

• Be great at working together with a team. We’re all learning from each other, and projects are often a collaborative effort!

• Write code that is optimised and tested

• Be eager to learn new skills and develop yourself

 

Bonus points if you:

• Have worked with WordPress, Opencart or Magento before, including creating custom plugins and themes from scratch

• Have worked with a modern PHP framework, like Laravel or Codeigniter 4

• Have experience with database design and planning

• Have used front-end build tools, like Sass

• Have an understanding of some PHP design patterns and SOLID principles

• Ensure your front-end code is accessible

We work with a wide range of clients, from great local businesses, to innovative start-ups and big brands. The work you do will have a direct impact on helping these businesses and solving interesting problems.

You’ll be joining our studio team, working alongside a talented team of developers, designers and server engineers.

 

We’ll offer you:

• 9 to 5 working hours, with flexible starting and finishing times
