Team Netbiz At Charity Football Event
Team Netbiz At Charity Football Event3rd October 2013 -
On Friday 27th September, Netbiz Group participated in the West Midlands Professionals’ Football Tournament for the most worthy of causes, the Douglas Macmillan charity. Organised by Sellick Partnership and Mitten Clarke, the tournament consisted of fifteen teams from a variety of sectors, including HSBC, Twyfords and Butters John Bee to name but a few.
An annual event, the tournament consisted of a mixture of public and private sector business professionals to battle it out at Power League Stoke in order to raise both money and awareness of the Dougie Mac charity.
With branded football strips, plenty of training (!), and having demolished the breakfast of champions (oatcakes) in preparation, Netbiz Group’s Finest were raring to go.
Pre-match, Marketing Executive Tom Bethell explains, “ It’s a lovely day! Even if it was raining I wouldn’t let the rain dampen my spirit.”
Designer Norddin Chetbin adds in true Stokie style, “ As long as we’ve got a team, we’ll be orate.”
Unfortunately, our IT support technician, Ashley Hulme, was injured during the rigorous pre-match training…which consisted of one kick about after work on a Monday night. Unable to participate (and have the afternoon off work), Ash was unavailable for comment.
All teams gave it their all, and was a great day and way of raising money for the cancer charity. A few injuries aside, Team Netbiz Group played the best they could, coming in at a respectable last place. It’s clearly the taking part that counts…
