The story / the solution
Founded in 1932, The Potclays Limited Group of Companies is based in the potteries. A leading manufacturer and supplier of ceramic materials, equipment and kilns for hobby, educational and industrial use. Boasting nearly 90 years of experience, Potclays have become one of the best-known names in their industry, with their products distributed throughout the UK, Europe and worldwide.
We were tasked with creating a new website for Potclays, which had outgrown the structure of their previous site. Potclays were looking for a fresh, agile and adaptable site that would allow their customers to find the right product in as few clicks as possible.
Opencart Web Development
To balance the needs of the client we chose OpenCart as our platform for this project, providing Potclays with the flexibility to continually update their product listings and the site as a whole.
Working closely with Potclays, we designed and developed a bespoke website that showcases the expertise that they’re renowned for across the globe.
- Bespoke Design The project required a bespoke design to showcase the history and expertise of Potclays and to properly display the extensive range of products on offer.
- Mobile First Design We adopted a mobile first design to ensure that the site’s key pages are easily accessible on mobile devices.
- Responsive Web Design A key element to this project was ensuring that the new site could be easily navigated from various devices. Consequently, we worked closely with the client to produce a faster loading site that would provide an improved mobile experience.
- Driving Organic Traffic In addition to redesigning the Potclays website, we also developed a robust SEO strategy to ensure the continued growth of their online presence. We focused on optimising keywords and creating engaging content, to improve and maintain Potclays’ Google rankings and drive traffic to the site. We also ensured that our content would highlight Potclays’ position as a highly trusted and experienced body in their field.
