A home-grown dynamic: Netbiz Group join forces with Youth Enterprise Start-Up Programme
A home-grown dynamic: Netbiz Group join forces with Youth Enterprise Start-Up Programme22nd May 2014 -
Here at Netbiz, we place value in a lot of things.
What kind of things do you ask? Well it’s hard to know where to start.
Great customer interaction, experienced staff members and quality service would be a good introduction, but I guess we also value less serious stuff like strong coffee and good music too.
One thing that we really, really do hold in high regard however is local community and creative vision. We embody our own core values by seeking partnership with local businesses such as our recent venture with Steelite International. We love the concept of home-grown dynamics.
In terms of creative vision? Well if people didn’t have great ideas, we might not have the chance to help them transform their business and website into something even greater.
At first, we thought that nobody else really understood our belief in the importance of nurturing local community relationships.
That’s until YESUP (the Youth Enterprise Start-Up Programme) and their associates were introduced.
So what do they and why is it so important?
The Youth Enterprise Start Up Programme was set up to help businesses find their roots in Staffordshire and the surrounding areas. If you’re over 18 and fancy yourself as a bit of an entrepreneur, then these guys want to help you out.
YESUP is ran by Youth Enterprise CIC, a community interest company that aims to make enterprise education more accessible to young people in the UK. The education side is based on engaging teaching resources, with regular mentoring sessions and some of the easiest start-up funding available in the entire UK.
A number of key local partners are involved, including the Beinspired team at Staffordshire University, Knights Solicitors, Stoke-On-Trent City Council, JSW Accountants Santander and Celestine Consulting.
And now, we’re very proud to admit, that thanks to YESUP’s new ‘Start-Up’ competition – it also has Netbiz.
The ‘Start Up’ is a competition being run by YESUP to award Stoke-on-Trent’s best and brightest entrepreneurs. The competition is open to business start-ups that have been trading since March 2013 and to entrepreneurs with new business ideas that are looking to start in the near future.
Once the competition closes on the 13th June 2014, all applicants will need to pitch their business ideas to a local selection committee.
These pitches will take place on the 7th & 8th July 2014.
The full field of competitors will then be invited to the finals evening at the Kings Hall in Stoke on the 16th July 2014, where six solitary finalists will be announced and a panel of high profile judges will pick their winners for the first, second and third place prizes.
Start Up is mainly endorsed by Stoke-on-Trents City Council, who have donated a total of £30,000 in cash funding, 3 months accommodation in one of the city’s business centres and free competitive business intelligence to the competition winners.
But that’s not all.
Local businesses, including ourselves – have also donated:
- Aspire – £1000 to each placed winner who takes on an apprentice
- Celestine – Free H&S and HR services
- JSW Accountants – Free Accountancy and Financial Management services
- Knights Solicitors – Free Legal Advice and Support
- Netbiz Group – Free Digital Marketing and Website Development services
- Reels in Motion – Free Marketing Videos
- The Sentinel – 12 months worth of coverage for the competition and the 3 winners
The winner of these prizes will take away much more than a prize-fund however.
They’ll also gain a personal education into the world of local enterprise and development.
The above list doesn’t just equate to some random freebies, instead – they’re best thought of as a gathering of tools that will prove vital in the growth of a business.
